ThereIM is up (sorta) and they are testing the world

Long time no update… well here is the low down:

ThereIM is working… you can goto http://there.com and click on “invite me now” to get the process of restoring your old there avatar in motion. Follow the instructions you receive via email after the click to get ThereIM going.  A while after you create your new/old avatar your items will be restored for you and you can try them on.

ThereIM is a simple chat client, that lets you change clothes and chat. It is not the full 3d client that there was.

The there.com people are working on getting the 3d There client working with a small group of testers.

 

 

There.com is coming back!

For any who remember running around in There.com and chatting and joking and the like with friends in there… good news. It will be back soon. The new there.com being called There2… (not to be confused with the 2.0 version of the old client ) will be running on Amazon AWS instead of being on private servers like before…. and will require a monthly fee to participate (although the Lifetime Beta appears to be honored). Currently they are speculating that it will be *at least* $10/mo

They are getting “ThereIM” working first… and then will bring up the full “There.com universe” afterwards.
